“A nice place we probably wouldn't visit again”

Tip for Other Campers:
STEEP driveway down to the camp sites by the river. It is Not the steepest we have ever been on but definitely respect the length limit.
Pub, restaurant and pizza were amazing.
Dog friendly.

- Seajim There is no beach access or ocean views from the campground. There is a short trail from the campground to the adjoining state park grounds and additional forest trails are accessible.2 years ago Fernwood Resort Big Sur
- Joe Chernow If you have a Garmin or any other GPS that savdys southbound on CA Hwy1 to take left turn to unpaved road to get to this parts, IGNORE IT!!!! IT LIES. There is nothing 5 miles in and local told us we better turn around which we did. Went back to Hwy 1 and drove about 8 more miles south and found this park.3 years ago Fernwood Resort Big Sur

A couple of points not covered in campground materials and reviews. The sites near the river are heavily shaded dirt sites that get no sun this time of year. This area could use a few yards of gravel...

“Relaxing river environment ”
Nightly Rate: $95 USD
No sewer and dump station is $20 and not easily accessed.
Enjoyed our time there, the restaurant, the bar, and the store. We camped at Fernwood Resort Big Sur in a Travel Trailer.

Had site #2, back in, electricity and water. No sewer; no cable tv; no air tv channels.Excellent restaurant but up 5-6 flights of outside stairs - a little tough on this 82 year old senior...
