“A very nice dry campground in the pines”
Nightly Rate: $12 USD
Our 5 star rating is based on knowing this was a dry campground. Our ratings take in account the type of campground. We don't rate a RV resort to a dry campground. First time at Bootleg Campground, a...

Tip for Other Campers:
Take CA-108 west (to Sonora and the Central Valley) from US-395. It was a beautiful drive to the pass. But, not recommended to take a RV over the pass (unless it is a truck camper). There are warnings prohibiting long trailers over the pass (28% grade and narrow winding 2 lane road). I would not recomment taking anything longer than 35' overall length. Even...

- 49DAY Take CA-108 west (to Sonora and the Central Valley) from US-395. It was a beautiful drive to the pass. But, not recommended to take a RV over the pass (unless it is a truck camper). There are warnings prohibiting long trailers over the pass (28% grade and narrow winding 2 lane road). I would not recomment taking anything longer than 35' overall length. Even then, you'll be crossing the center line during some turns. Bridgeport is a nice little town with many places to eat. Mainly burgers and a BBQ places. We ate at The Barn and their burgers were very good. Next time, I'll order a corndog and onion rings. They look very good. Oh, gas is expensive in Bridgeport, so fuel up before getting here.3 years ago Bootleg Campground

Terrific campground, terrific host. Lots of long sites for big RVs. Fresh water fill in park. We camped at Bootleg Campground in a Travel Trailer.

We found the campground that we love! We've been coming here, trailer and tenting, for the past 2 years. Every summer we are here at least every other week until they close. Hosts are the most...

Question:
I read that the campground is "closed" in mid September. Does that just mean the host has left, or that a gate is closed?...

Excellent campground on the Walker river. Never crowded and seems like the campground attracts people who want to get away from noise and partying. Great value and hosts are extremely friendly and not...
