From this park, it is a two hour or less drive to Yosemite, Pinnacles, Sequoia, and Kings Canyon National parks. Some shopping and dining in the city, but most major stores are in Madera, about 15 minutes south

Yosemite was close enough to driver to. We did not get in due to not knowing we needed a reservation but the drive up there was beautiful.
