Tree of Heaven is a Federal campground located about 11 miles north west of Yreka CA. There are 2 ways of getting there, the most simple is to take the Hwy 96 exit off of I-5 just north of Yreka....

Tip for Other Campers:

Fishing is right there as are interesting side roads along the river. Closest stores and gas are in Yreka, 11 miles.

The drive into the park is steep and has sharp curves but is it doable. There were at least 3 sites large enough for our 40' motorhome and 1 was a pull through. The park is along the Klamath River,...

Travels with Tex Be sure to check out the Speakeasy Coffee house in downtown Quitman (about a mile away). An old hotel, brothel, dry goods store turned into a coffee house, meeting space. Mineola is about 320 minutes away and has a lot for the railroad fan, with an Amtrak station modeled after an old time depot and with a museum inside. And if you're coming in from I-20 on Hwy 69, look for the Cadillac Ranch east, just outside of Lindale.
