“Beautiful campground right next to the American River”

“Great park right on the American River”
Nightly Rate: $86 USD
Awesome Manager and employees. Clean bathrooms, my sight was great full hook up. I highly recommend this park and will visit again. We camped at Thousand Trails Ponderosa in a Motorhome.
Tips from campers about Thousand Trails Ponderosa
- David Ransier Take the artillery museum tour. My wife wasn't that interested initially, but there are many historical photos that she really enjoyed. The Camp Host was there and he gave us a personal tour which made it incredibly interesting.
- JohnBike The Silverwater and Quench restaurants are well worth a visit.
- Bob Luster Consider sites close to both the ocean and the cliff.

Tip for Other Campers:
Don't trust google maps to direct you to campground from the east. They'll route you on a narrow windy highway (CA-49). I would recommend exiting on Greenstone Road (Exit 41, a few miles west of Placerville). You'll still have a few windy sections of road, but a lot less than taking CA-49.
