Tip for Other Campers:
Best of you have a car to get around to areas outside the park. If you have always wanted to bike the coastal path through the beach cities near LA, this is a perfect spot.

Tips from campers about Dockweiler RV Park
- Glenn & Becky Puckett Reservations are very difficult to get in the Keys in wintertime. If you plan to go there start looking a year in advance. Even then it will not be easy to find something. If you do find something it won't be cheap!!!
- Bobalooey Very close to the seven mile bridge. There is a turtle hospital on Marathon that we hear is worth visiting. We didnt know about it until after we departed. 30 minute drive to Key West. There is a Publix on Marathon.
- LForm Catch your own fish in one of the charter boats right at the docks that the resort is in, bring it to Lazy Days, the restaurant right there, and have them cook it for you. Ladies shop at DK Boutique in Key Colony! Visit the Design Showroom for ideas and furnishings. Visit the Turtle Hospital. 7 mile bridge is scheduled to open in early 2022- ride your bikes or walk/run it..

There are not many legitimate campgrounds in LA proper. Dockweiler was a good find for us. Even while it is in the flight path of LAX , the noise was not enough to block out the ocean waves....
