Tips from campers about Stafford RV Park and Campground

  • Luis URQUIA We stayed next to the edge of the canyon and on our second night the wind was nothing to play around with. This area is prone to high winds with dust storms. We had no damage, but be ready because this happens in the month we were there pretty frequently. Places we visited included Valley of the Gods, Moki Dugway, Muley Point, Mexican Hat and Monument Valley. The four corners are also doable, but there is nothing much more to see there other than having pictures for bragging rights.
  • BobL158 Bring food, closest town is Mexican Hat and I only saw very limited restaurants. Camp sites were mostly empty until around 4pm, when several campers arrived
  • Babas Checkout nearby Moki Dugway, and the Valley of the Gods.

Tip for Other Campers:

The Avenue of Giants entrance is about mile down the road. At the beginning of the drive (and end) they have self-guided tour brochures. This drive will leave you in awe of what you see. Magnificent! Be sure to drive your (small) car through the tree. Eureke is beautiful with the murals and Victorian buildings.Ferndale also has stunning Victorian buildings

Tip for Other Campers:

Day trip to Eureka, 30 minutes north. Museums, artsy-fartsy murals abound. Great seafood at Caf Marina on Woodley Island. Enjoyed nature walk one morning at the Shorebird Trail Loop watching birds and marine fog over the hills and wetlands. Avenue of the Giants is a must, however a bit touristy at some stops.
