Tip for Other Campers:
The RV dump at the nearby Merrill campground cost $10, not $5. The 5 mile paved trail starts near site #13. It's about 50 - 60% shaded, and has beautiful views of the lake. The coolest birds we saw were bald eagles and pelicans. It's a 5-10 minute walk to the lake. However, to use a kayak, canoe etc., you need to drive around 5 minutes to the Eagle...

If you're coming through Susanville be sure to stop at Lassen Ale Works Boardroom and have the spicy Hawaiian pizza and amber ale.
