Joshua Tree National Park and Anza-Borrego State Park. Salton Sea is about 20' below normal levels and is basically dead.

Leons Meat Market in Mecca has great meat, produce and bakery. Indio is about 25 minutes away and has the big stores - Walmart, Petco etc.
