Went to Rocky Mountain national park (right next to campground), in before 9 am, no reservation needed.
Tips from campers about Grand Lake / Rocky Mountain National Park KOA Journey
- gs2rt Decent store/gas at "Christian Camp" 3 miles. No other gas avail for long way. Easier to get to & from the CG from Grant Grove entrance to Kings Canyon NP via the "Tenmile" road than by following Ca 180. Same distance, but not as steep, winding, or as much traffic.7 years ago Hume Lake Christian Camps

Drive Trail Ridge Road.at least go until you cant go any higher. I dont say breathtaking muchthis is breathtaking.There is even a place for lunch near the top.Most of the big elk and moose were in higher elevations for us in June.
