- NeverStopExploring Eat at The Mason Jar restaurant only two miles away in Colorado Springs. Delicious food, good prices, excellent professional staff, and great western atmosphere. For a long day trip, go to Royal Gorge Bridge and Park near Canon City, Colorado. It is the highest suspension bridge in the U.S. It is over the Royal Gorge canyon.You can walk across it...it is 18 feet wide so I wasnt scared. You cannot drive across it. There are also zip lines and gondolas there. Then we drove down to Canon City and rode the Royal Gorge train through the canyon. Both were great experiences although both are expensive. Location is great. Close to trails, parks restaurants. Garden of the God's and Pikes Peak. We camped at Pikes Peak RV Park in a Motorhome.
