Tip for Other Campers:
You can access the Monarch Spur Trail right across Hwy 50 about a block from the campground entrance. This is a beautiful paved 2-3 mile walking/biking trail to Salida that winds through pastures. There is a dog park along the path as well. Salida is a great, lively, friendly town with lots to do and see. We enjoyed watching people "surf" the water rapids.
