Check website for toxic algae warning (or call the park) before you go. Sites down by the water are gorgous!
Wind can be a problem at times.

Not many people there- Tuesday night. Each site with sheltered picnic table. Concrete pads. Firepit looked a bit beaten up! I got 2 loads of laundry done in the laundry room- 3 washers 3 driers....

“Out of the way CG on a nice lake”

This CG is in NE Colorado - about 10 miles north of Sterling, CO. Not much here except for the lake and some hiking trails. Campsites have plenty of room, but no shade. All have 20/30/50 amp electric....

If you're coming from the west on CO-14, make sure to stay on CO-14 all the way into Sterling and then turn left on 7th St. If your map app suggests that you turn north onto one of the county roads prior to getting to Sterling, do not do this - many of them are unpaved. The road leading to the Elks campground is not busy, really its nearly vacated, but it is narrow.
