We stayed here in 30 ft Motorhome for several nights. Beautiful High Mountain (10000 ft) Campgound. Boondocking only so bring your water. There is a hand pump water well to fill small containers....

We boondocked here for a couple of nights. It's a beautiful remote high altitude campground. After you turn off the paved road (Highway of Legends) the dirt road has quite a bit of wash boarding going...

Tip for Other Campers:

Often, there is great fishing over at Bear Lake about 20 minutes away. On our past trip the fish were biting like crazy. On this trip not a single bite. I think the lake is so popular you have to fish after it's been stocked or else it gets over fished and nothing. The town of Stonewall is nearby and Cuchara is not too far away.

Andy R Often, there is great fishing over at Bear Lake about 20 minutes away. On our past trip the fish were biting like crazy. On this trip not a single bite. I think the lake is so popular you have to fish after it's been stocked or else it gets over fished and nothing. The town of Stonewall is nearby and Cuchara is not too far away.
