Tip for Other Campers:
The river is the main attraction. But I also biked to Hall's Pond. Food and ice cream at Ashford Dairy Bar & Grill quite good.

- Cloudwlkr The town of Alma is only about 3 minutes away. Kelly's Bakery sticky buns are excellent. We took a day to drive to Point Wolf and area. Hiked Dickson Falls, another day to drive up to Sussex and look at the covered bridges. The cover bridge on the way down to the park is 7 km of very narrow, rough, gravel road if you are going to do it. Another day we did the drive to Hopewell Rocks and area. - JArbuckle Be sure to have a lobster roll at the Alma Lobster Shop and get a beer at the Holy Whale Brewery. If you have time take the trip to Hopewell Rocks at low tide.7 months ago Headquarters Campground

This is a nice clean flat campground. Most of the sites are on the stream, and there are a few swimming areas. We camped at Peppertree Campground in a Motorhome.

Tip for Other Campers:
Great place to base yourself to explore the colorful changing of the leaves here in Connecticut. Old Sturbridge Village is 30 miles away and is a great place to visit for a day. Also close is Mystic Seaport and the Norman Rockwell Museum.

We camped here in a fairly large group (7 families) for the Fourth of July, and the campground was completely full! The seasonal folks were extremely friendly! Some in our group had riverside sites...
