All of the staff were friendly and helpful. If you have kayaking questions, pick a time when there's not a line to rent and the staff will chat with you about the many trails through the mangroves.

Kayaking allows you to get in close to the mangroves. Caribbean Club is a great place to watch the sunset.
Tips from campers about John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park
- lgehring Traffic on I-10 is horrific, and most directions send you to I-10 for a mile to get on another highway. Look at alternate routes.

Stench in site 13! Smelled of sewer. Not sure if it was the neighbors sewer connection that was practically under our picnic table or the stagnant pond right behind all the sites on this side....

If you arrive early, they'll let you park at the marina while you wait for your site. We have no trouble checking in and going directly to our site at noon.
