Tips from campers about Three Rivers State Park
- Janet1962 Colorado National Monument is 2 miles down the road - a must see!!
- Rosie the Riveted If you're here in the heat of summer, consider going up to Grand Mesa. It was 99 in Fruita and about 72 up on Grand Mesa - definitely bring your bug spray. We explored Colorado Monument, its about six miles to the visitor center and a couple short hikes. You can continue 23 miles or backtrack to explore something else. We found downtown Grand Junction to be fun with restaurants, shops, and ice cream. There's a great farmer's market on Sundays in Palisade, just the other side of Grand Junction.
- JJshaw1991 Visit the dinosaur park and museum if you have little children. There is fuel at decent prices (cheaper than Grand. Junction about 10 miles away). Also a good assortment of restaurants when you exit the freeway. Be aware that there are two campgrounds with the same name. One on the east side ofGrand Junction but not as nice while this is on the west side of Grand Junction.
