“Great park!!!”
Nightly Rate: $32 USD
Beautiful park!!! Lake view with beach access. Spacious sites!! Friendly staff. Relatively short drive to Augusta. We will definitely stay here again. We camped at Winfield in a Travel Trailer.

Tip for Other Campers:
Make sure you eat at Baby Joe's restaurant at the entrance to Windfield Rd. Delicious Southern cooking, but only open on Thursday through Saturday and open at 5:00 PM.
Habaneros in Tompson is a really good Mexican restaurant.
There is a nice, big Walmart and Tractors Supply also in Tompson.
Tips from campers about Winfield
- BillCraig Don't rely on auto GPS to get you here or you will end up going down some less than easy country roads to get to the campground. Get onto state route 45 and follow GPS from there.2 years ago Prairie Pines Campground
- Doncooke Check out the interesting abandoned Chanute aircraft museum on the way to the park from Rantoul. Drive around back for more aircraft.7 years ago Prairie Pines Campground
- dalenoel Stores, shopping, and food are all close for all price ranges. Walmart and fast food was within a couple miles. Be aware when using a GPS in getting to the park it may take you on a tour around the old air force base and not directly to the campground. Tip for Other Campers:
Grocery store/fuel 16 miles. Augusta and anything and everything you could desire 20 - 25 miles from Campground entrance. Nights were quiet and peaceful albeit hot/humid and muggy in July in Georgia. Just the music of the frogs/cicada's and crickets nature sounds.
