Tips from campers about Unicoi State Park and Lodge
- Wnewland This is better suited for smaller rigs. Big ones will have a difficult time making turns.2 years ago Unicoi State Park and Lodge
- MEdwardR The villages of Helen and Dahlonega play off historic quaintness. Of the two, we felt Dahlonega had more points of interest and was a genuinely historic 'gold-rush' town of 2 centuries ago. Helen presents itself as a "Bavarian" village but it's a facade. Nice, yes; good dining choices, yes; but no historic basis for the presentation; just a 1960's based marketing plan. See Anna Ruby Falls. It has an awesome payoff at the end of the footpath. Yes, it cost $10 to enter the parking area (this is US Forest Service, not GA State Park) and yes, the footpath is UPHILL all the way to the Falls, but this is one of the top 5 wilderness falls we've ever seen. The elevation drop and the water volume (Jan. 2025) just made us go "Wow'"!3 months ago Unicoi State Park and Lodge
- Joe1127 The dump station is a little tricky to get in to. I have a 32 fifth wheel and I was able to swing wide enough to make it, but a long fifth wheel or travel trailer may have an issue. Its a very tight turn to get in there.2 years ago Unicoi State Park and Lodge

Tip for Other Campers:
They do not charge for their washers and dryers!!! The path up to Anna Ruby Falls is paved. You have to stop and visit Betty's Market in Helen. It is super cute and has a small bar on the patio where we met some local, fun people. Although Helen is very cute, it is mostly novelty shops selling t-shirts, keychains etc. There are some unique spots here and...

A nice park and facilities. The sites have a lot of trees which is also a down side as we could not fully open our awning because they were so close. The camping sites are outlined by wood timbers...
