Belvidere is only 3 miles away, and Rockford is about 20 miles away. There is a Walmart nearby, and Applebees is in the Walmart shopping center. Rockford is worth the drive. Tips from campers about Thousand Trails Pine Country
- JoyceDou243 Sufficient shopping and services close by. The park is located in Belvidere (a small town) and Rockford, which is larger and has plenty of great spots to visit, is about 20 minutes away. We like to go to Stone Eagle for a great steak and fun atmosphere, the brewery on the river and, whenever mechanical repairs / maintenance of any kind are needed, Scott's RV, Truck & Auto (certified AquaHot and Onan technicians).2 years ago Thousand Trails Pine Country
- Kelleys53 Belvidere is only 3 miles away, and Rockford is about 20 miles away. There is a Walmart nearby, and Applebees is in the Walmart shopping center. Rockford is worth the drive. I recommend you visit some of the sites of the Rockford Peaches, Women's Baseball League of WWII. This was the team that the movie League of Their Own was based on. - Strong RV We did a day trip to Chicago! Highly recomend the Hop on, Hop off Big City bus tour and seeing the T-rex, Sue, at The Field museum. The Illinois Railway Museum in Union is the largest railroad museum in the US and definately worth the visit. Train rides are included in your ticket! Rosati's Pizza, near the Walmart had delicious Chicago deep dish pizza! The Bakery, inside Fiesta Market grocery store has a wide assortment of tasty pastries and breads at a great price!8 months ago Thousand Trails Pine Country
