“Great Location”
Nightly Rate: $51 USD
Easy 45 degree back in FHU site. Sites are tight and fires aren't in a ring but just a spot where there's no grass. Check-in was easy. Pool was closed-out of season but looked good. Walmart next door...

Tip for Other Campers:
Rent e-bikes at Nutsoutdoors and ride to Chestnut Resort. Take the chair lift up for lunch and views. Great town to walk down main street. Lots of shops, great food, unique.

Tip for Other Campers:
The town of Galena is so charming with LOTS of shopping. We also drove around the area and explored - it was quite beautiful. The Visitor's Center is very helpful.
Tips from campers about Palace Campgrounds
- Pat_63 Bring bikes for transportation around the island. Roads are safe to bike ride on, many have a bike lane provided. Bring water toys, kayaks etc.2 years ago South Bass Island State Park
- RobsRVn Lots of things to do on put in bay. Make sure to rent a golf cart or bring your bikes. Weekends can get a little crazy in town. But the campground was a nice and quiet.2 years ago South Bass Island State Park

“Very nice and friendly place”
Nightly Rate: $51 USD
Very nice and clean place with lots to do. People were very friendly. Only gave 4 stars due to the tight spots. Will definitely come back. We camped at Palace Campgrounds in a Travel Trailer.
Tip for Other Campers:
Only a 5 minute ride to historic down town Galena.
