“Great campground but close to civilization”
Nightly Rate: $12 USD
Dunewood is a nice campground - large, wooded sites and clean bathrooms- but it is very close to a main road and a train station, so there is noise from both. The good news about being so close to...

The bike trail to Michigan City - trailhead parking near Mt Baldy - is an easy ride, but it is not particularly scenic. The outlet mall is just across the street from the trail as you enter Michigan City. You can continue all the way to Washington Park (at Lake Michigan); some parts of the trail close to the Park are on the street (not a bike/walker...

The website claims the sites can accommodate 50'. That is completely ridiculous. We are a 46' fifth wheel and backing into our spot was nearly impossible. We actually had to move to a different spot...

Tips from campers about Dunewood Campground
- Oscar & Amy Visitor's Center for the NP is nicely set up, and staff are helpful. Pinhook Bog trail is really beautiful-take your binocs, wear insect repellant and do a tick check when you finish. Calumet bike path is a little rough, but a nice ride to the State Park from the CG. Take the time to see the 1933 World's Fair Houses of Tomorrow in Beverly Shores, just about a mile away. They were floated over from Chicago-amazing. There is a phone guided tour (I couldn't get on, but you might). There is a Culver's in Michigan City!2 years ago Dunewood Campground

“Beautiful woodsy park”

For a big rig 45ft it was tight to get in and not a lot of space around the rig. There was barriers so you cant go back as far as you could but behind the barriers was plenty of space for a fire and a...

This is a wonderful NP campground. We got into our site nicely. When you go online and look at the pictures it gives you length of the site to help you. Like all NP campgrounds it's older so...

This is a very nice national camp park campground. Weve been to several, and they are generally set up the same to my experience and this one is similar. We really enjoyed the fact that the train...
