Tip for Other Campers:
Before you drive to your campsite, you must check in up near the main base area. So if you forget to do that, you will make the 2 mile drive down the windy road to the lake and then have to go all the way back up towards the main base area to the MWR building to actually pay and get your site number. My recommendation would be to verify processing check in...

Tip for Other Campers:
MWR set a map with direction for entering the base but they failed to mention that is also the only way to exit the base. You can not exit the east (Bloomington) gate. Since we were heading east we went that way only to be turned back by the security guard. It is a big base so driving to the other side takes a while....

- South Family This beach is about 20 minutes south of Mulege, a cute town where there are restaurants, gas stations, bakery, grocery store and sights to visit. Make sure someone has Verizon so you can navigate the base with Google maps, otherwise difficult to get around. Also bring what you need in, as there isn't much on base....
