Before you drive to your campsite, you must check in up near the main base area. So if you forget to do that, you will make the 2 mile drive down the windy road to the lake and then have to go all the way back up towards the main base area to the MWR building to actually pay and get your site number. Tip for Other Campers:
Look to ensure the site is empty, to include looking at the post to ensure there is not a receipt on the camp site post. Several Van Lifers who pulled out all day, only to come back in the evening, who didnt leave anything in the site.
