As you drive in there is a sign pointing to the right for the park office. Don't go there to check in. Continue on to the campground and your reserved site or self-register at the entrance to the campground. Tips from campers about Volga River State Recreation Area - Lakeview Campground
- Jaybeare As you drive in there is a sign pointing to the right for the park office. don't go there to check in. continue on to the campground and your reserved site or self-register at the entrance to the campground. some of the trails that are labeled for biking are not really usable due to the horse traffic that is also allowed on them. they are rough, sometimes sandy and have Road Apple obstacles. instead we rode on the little traveled main roads and visited the boutique Winery you'll see on the way in.

We picked wild black raspberries from near our camp sitefished in the lake, no keepers but plenty of action We camped at Volga River State Recreation Area - Lakeview Campground in a Motorhome.

Tip for Other Campers:
Stop at the Heaven Boutique Winery for live music and good eats. They feature all wines that are made in Iowa. There is a decent grocery store in West Union along with a few fast food restaurants. Also a dirt track in town with racing on Friday nights
