“Camping while getting RV serviced at Factory”
Nightly Rate: $0 USD
Lots of space to spread out. Walking path nearby. Not close to anything other factory. Restrooms and showers were still shut down for the winter. We camped at Winnebago Visitors Center in a Motorhome.
Tip for Other Campers:
Potable water near the big red barn to the right of the entrance.

Tips from campers about Winnebago Visitors Center
- Wendylee Bring what you need. It is a bit of a trip to the nearest grocery store.4 years ago W P Franklin Campground
- Jan Orlando Edison and Ford Winter Homes and museum was interesting. Boathouse grill about 5 mins. Sat waterside and watched the boats. Great shrimp tacos. Restaurant also has a pool so you can enjoy an adult beverage at the pool. Walmart about 15 mins. Publix about 10 min. 20 or so mins to Ft Myers3 weeks ago W P Franklin Campground

I went on the Winnebago tour, my prime reason for visiting. The tour was about 2hrs, taking you around the property in a bus to see buildings, learning where everything is done. We walked catwalks through 2 production line buildings which was very interesting, seeing the lines that make their Class C and Class A rigs. You'll see acres of RV chassis waiting...

Get here early to make future service appointments, parking and the tour if your interested. There are grocery stores, a Bridgestone Firestone nearby as well as gas stations, a hy-vee and Bongards hardware store. A&W is also close if you are into the best root beer floats.

Tip for Other Campers:
There is a small HyVee grocery store about 1.5 miles away on the left on US 69 as you enter Forest City. The Winnebago Visitors Center has free loaner bicycles to use to get around while you are parked here. The roads to Winnebago west from I-35 are very rough.
