This is a "fishing lake" with campsites. No hookups, but plenty of lake view. Picnic tables, not at all sites. Sites were good for smaller units, but a couple big spots were found on the loop across...

Tip for Other Campers:

Go see the Stockade and Carrie Nation (all in one) in town off 160 $5 gets you in both. Seniors $4. Gift shop and stockade together. They are mostly self guide. Nice staff!

Tips from campers about Barber State Fishing Lake

  • Lloyd Kurtz Cheyenne Bottoms and Nature Center make a very nice rest stop. To the south is Quivira Nature Reserve. Underground Tunnels in Ellinwood is a must to see. To the east in the town of Lyons is the Coronado-Quivira Museum that is very nice.
