“Great Park”
Nightly Rate: $12 USD
Very clean, amenities clean and convenient. Staff super friendly and very helpful. Everything you need in a great little campground. We camped at Buckhorn Campground in a Travel Trailer.
“Disappointed ”
Nightly Rate: $15 USD
Stayed at our first COE, Buckhorn Dam Campground in Kentucky. Beautiful campground at the base of the dam. Mostly well kept and clean but our site was not. Cigarette butts, fishing lures (and assuming...

Tips from campers about Buckhorn Campground
- RVL331003 If you need gas, I recommend the Modil station on 1st Center Avenue in Brodhead. The Gas Islands are angled so easy entry and exit. And a little further down the road is a Piggly Wiggly grocery store. No Walmart in town.9 months ago Crazy Horse Campground
- LangRV Try not to stay in the lower level if you can, the Area around the swim pond is wide open, no trees or shade and many of the sites have your door facing the sun, but they are nice sites with paved patio areas and full hookups.9 months ago Crazy Horse Campground
- NorthOf8 A short ride to town where you will find spots to eat. The historical museum has some great things for a small town. Sugar River bike trail is also a fun activity. Take a left when exiting the campground and a few miles down the road is a cheese factory with awesome eats!2 years ago Crazy Horse Campground

“Not the Best COE”
Nightly Rate: $24 USD
This has been our least favorite COE campground. It has potential but the lake, creek, and river are full of trash. During the week the campground was mostly empty. The two trails listed on the...

Tip for Other Campers:
Agree with the previous tip to NOT take KY 2022. It is a single-lane road.
“Quite and pleasant sites”
Nightly Rate: $24 USD
Very nice and clean campground, many sites back up to the river. Campground is clean and host is nice and attends to problems. We had a site that the 20amp plug was dead so after he checked it and...

“Hidden Gem of a park”
Nightly Rate: $12 USD
Quite literally hidden if you follow RVLife GPS instructions! The address needs to be changed to Buckhorn Dam Rd, or Tailewater Campground Rd. 31 sites with 30/50 amp and water. Dump station, and...

Tip for Other Campers:
The GPS tried sending us across the street. There is a bit of a curve in road Hwy 28 to the right, the access road and brown COE sign are on the left side of the road in said curve, and easy to miss if it is dark and stormy as it was when we arrived. It's a 45 min drive to Hazard and restaurants and shopping. Hwy 28 is VERY twisty and hilly and no shoulders...
