Tips from campers about Morehead, KY
- JDug66 Was impressed at the remoteness of this lake and campground in the Daniel Boone National Forest. The lake is not spoiled by development and is rimmed with peaked mountains, trees and slabs of rock. Plan accordingly with supplies as the closest town, Morehead, is a good 25 min drive away. There is a Dollar store, Valero and Pops BBQ closer located at the 801/60 roundabout, which is about 4 miles out of the park. If you're planning a day trip to visit Bourbon Country, Frankfort/Lexington is about 1.5 hours west down I-64.5 months ago Twin Knobs Recreation Area
- Capt_Britain Pops BBQ is close, else you have all the chains just off I-645 months ago Twin Knobs Recreation Area
