Tips from campers about Fontainebleau State Park

  • AaronDupuis The sunsets at the beach park are fantastic and only a short drive/bike. The state park is connected to the Tammany Trace which has over 26 miles of protected bike trails, Mandeville is fairly close and makes a perfect stop for lunch or dinner. Abita Springs is a bit father but the brewery is a great stop for a drink or food.
  • RV NOLA Folks Very close to small towns of Abita Springs, Lacombe and Mandeville. Close to city of Covington and Slidell. Easy access to shopping, dining and entertainment by car or even by bike. Highly recommend Triple Nickel for lunch or dinner and Liz's Where Y'at Dinner for breakfast (both on Hwy 190/Florida St) and also Mandeville Seafood on Hwy 59, about 5 miles away. In Abita Springs (on Hwy 59N) go to Abita Brewery / Abita Brewhouse and Restaurant.
  • Julie_736 Hiking and biking are wonderful. Mandeville is an interesting place to explore.
