“Just south of Calais”
Nightly Rate: $45 USD
Despite being on a hilltop, not much of a view. Many seasonals. Restroom was not a place I would spend much time. We camped at Hilltop Campground in a Motorhome.

“Noisy traffic from the surprisingly busy road behind the hedge”
Nightly Rate: $36 USD
We recently stayed a night in our tent here. The people running it were pleasant. However, on the downside, we e-mailed to get a reservation and we called the campground in advance, but no-one got...

Tip for Other Campers:
A place in Calais we enjoyed for a lobster roll was The Sandwich Man on the west side of Main street. Marden's store for bargain hunting was good.

- moonbeam2 If you have your passport take a trip over to campobello island and visit president Roosevelt's home. It is free and the tours are very informative.2 years ago Hilltop Campground
- Rick Nader Visit Lubec (45 minutes) and Eastport (20 minutes). They are sleepy old fishing villages with some restaurants and shops. Nothing fancy but pretty cool to see. Good seafood restaurants just like the rest of the Maine coast. Lubec is the eastern most town and Eastport the eastern most city in the states. Walmart is 20 minutes drive in Calias on the NB Canada border. Prince Edward Island is a 5 hour drive if you can work it in while your up in these parts. Also there's a bridge in Lubec to Campobello island NB. Roosevelt Campobello International Park is highly recommended for history buffs.3 years ago Hilltop Campground

Once we arrived we found out that their water well was contaminated. They say you can bath but must boil drinking water. We found another RV park the next day. We are not about to get sick on our...

“friendly”
Nightly Rate: $27 USD
Clean and friendly. Stock up on food as they are quite a ways from a store. It was a quiet camp. I would go back. We camped at Hilltop Campground in a Motorhome.

“Small quiet park in a great location in Maine far away from the masses”
Nightly Rate: $18 USD
Small family campground. Mostly seasonal. Owners super friendly and helpful. They prefer monthly or seasonal campers so the discount is substantial which is why we picked this campground for a month...
