“Lots of beautiful tall trees”
Nightly Rate: $86 USD
Beautiful campground among the trees, this really felt like camping, not just a parking lot full of RVs. The spots are tight but long enough for our 30ft class A and toad. Reservations were made...

Tip for Other Campers:
Its close to the lighthouse and Portland. Portland is dog friendly, the lighthouse not so much. You can bring your dog to the lighthouse, but if your dog poops, there isnt a trash can in sight! There is a sign that states trash cans are by the vendors, they wont let you drop it in the trash cans. Kind of rude people there. We ended up dropping it in the...

Tip for Other Campers:
On the Vine is right around the corner and has quality seafood, steaks and specialty foods. There is a farmers market on Sundays at the municipal building.
Tips from campers about Wild Duck Campground & RV Park
- Asia & Yoshi Instructions to get to the RV park weren’t easy. Two choices to enter the RV park after turning left at the off-ramp (#2): 1). The first right is directly across from the I80 ramp just before the Casino and Sinclair station: Turn right and stay right along the outer edge to circle around the back parking lot for the casino (rather than going into the gas station). There are a number of speed bumps but they are straight across the lane, so go slow. There are “no trucks” signs but I believe that is for the Casino parking lot not for the RV resort entrance. There isn’t a sign directing you to take this entrance. 2) The second right is just past the casino and Sinclair station. This avoids the speed bumps but it is a narrow street with traffic exiting the Casino and Jack in the Box drive through. You may have to have someone hold up traffic in order to have enough room to make a wide turn down the street. There is a small sign on the far side of the entrance directing you to the RV resort.4 years ago Gold Ranch Casino & RV Resort
- GKLott Verdi was always colder than Reno. Be careful of the I-80W exit, as it is VERY short.4 months ago Gold Ranch Casino & RV Resort

Lucky Catch lobster cruise in Portland. On the Vine Market was exceptional.
“It was super expensive but, gosh, I could have stayed forever”
Nightly Rate: $88 USD
We rushed down to the Portland area to take our dog to Maine Veterinary Medical Center, a VECCS-rated emergency hospital. She's doing fine, thanks to them, but what we thought might be a night in...

We visited Bug Light and Fort Williams Park, highly recommend both. The seafood chowder from On The Vine Marketplace, very near the campground, was excellent.

Scarborough Beach. Do a water tour from Portland of Casco Bay - Harbor Lights and Sights. 30 minute drive to Portland Head Lighthouse- THE lighthouse commissioned by G. Washington in 1791!
