Watch out for the wild turkeys. We nearly collided with a turkey with nearly a dozen chicks. If you use Open Roads for diesel, the Wiscasset Irving Station on US 1 does not work. Though the Open Roads representative activated the billing device for the station, the employees at the Irving station stated "we are not a truck stop" we don't have the billing...
Tips from campers about Chewonki Campground
- Dwane Houghtaling Watch out for the wild turkeys. We nearly collided with a turkey with nearly a dozen chicks. If you use Open Roads for diesel, the Wiscasset Irving Station on US 1 does not work. Though the Open Roads representative activated the billing device for the station, the employees at the Irving station stated "we are not a truck stop" we don't have the billing equipment. Most frustrating. Fortunately the Open Roads representative heard the statements from the employees and will elevate the issue her case manager. Hopefully, it will get resolved.
