Tips from campers about Massasoit State Park
- Some Call Me Tim I'd ask about staying in the large lot next door. The sites are pretty close together and someone fired up a loud generator and ran it the whole time he was there... until I left, anyway. In the empty lot, I could have been further away.1 year ago Petrified Forest Gift Shop
- Lisa Doyle There is no water or dump station. Get gas before you leave Holbrook (eastbound). It is 18 miles from Holbrook to the gift shop/south entrance (where there is no gas) and 28 miles from the south entrance to the north entrance. The campground was just OK. Sites were mostly dirt/gravel and not very level. We stayed in loop A site 9. A and B loops have water and electric and didnt have any issues with that, good water...

We drove 1/2 hr into Plymouth and had a lovely day touring the town and the Mayflower II.
It is really good to see this park open again. It is convenient to Cape Cod (if anything can be said to be "convenient" when it comes to getting on Cape Cod) and Boston. The staff are very friendly...

Tip for Other Campers:
Not too much to do in the immediate area, but the campground is only an hour from Boston or Providence or Cape Cod (though traffic to the Cape in the summer is very heavy). Lorenzo's Italian Restaurant and the Fireside Grille in Middleboro are long-time local favorites.
