“Great location for Sleeping Bear Dunes”
Nightly Rate: $10 USD
This is a primitive campground with no hookups and no bathhouse. Pit toilets are provided. There is a water fill and dump station at the entrance. Sites are small and close together, but still feel...

“Not worth the hype”
Nightly Rate: $21 USD
After setting a calendar tickler six months in advance to ensure we had a chance at obtaining a campsite here, we were underwhelmed with our stay. The location is great, of course, but the amenities...

- Some Call Me Tim I'd ask about staying in the large lot next door. The sites are pretty close together and someone fired up a loud generator and ran it the whole time he was there... until I left, anyway. In the empty lot, I could have been further away.1 year ago Petrified Forest Gift Shop
- Lisa Doyle There is no water or dump station. Get gas before you leave Holbrook (eastbound). It is 18 miles from Holbrook to the gift shop/south entrance (where there is no gas) and 28 miles from the south entrance to the north entrance. I spent the whole day driving through the park worried I was going to run out of gas.1 year ago Petrified Forest Gift Shop
- Cathy and Bob Come with full water. Holbrook 15 minutes away.3 weeks ago Petrified Forest Gift Shop

“Primitive campground with limited amenities. No wi-fi. Great location for Sleeping Bear Dunes. ”
Nightly Rate: $20 USD
Vault toilets and potable water with dump facilities. Very primitive sites as it is an older campground. Location is great for local activities especially biking. I would recommend the maritime museum...

Tip for Other Campers:
Biking is better than hiking. Recommend kayaking in the am as winds pick up later in the day.
“Convenient location, tight sites”
Nightly Rate: $10 USD
The campground is basic. No hookups at campsite. There are pit toilets that are clean and nice for what they are. Water fountains throughout park but the water was unsafe when we were there. It was...

“Maximum rustic experience next to Lake Michigan”
Nightly Rate: $15 USD
We were here in September and October 2021. Dead quiet at night, and dark. Campground is no-hookups, and the trees make it a bit difficult to use a solar panels, so be mindful of power needs when...

Tip for Other Campers:
One of the most beautiful national parks in the east. The bicycle trail made it for us. Oh gosh, what a wonderful ride. Lots to see and do and eat in the area. You just have to experience it. Good Italian food nearby. And there was this place over in Traverse City called MooMaws Ice Cream. Yes, you need to find it and get a huge scoop or three. So good. The...
