“Very private and wooded”
Nightly Rate: $30 USD
We enjoyed our stay. It was a great park with trails and a lot of parks and beaches in the area. We camped at Platte River Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

The sites of the Dunes in the park on the Pierce Stocking Scenic Drive was our favorite.

Beautiful sites with lots of space. One of the nicer SP / NP campgrounds Ive ever been to. We camped at Platte River Campground in a Motorhome.

- Christi M Lots of restaurants and great shopping at Grandscape nearby. Monday at Angelinas Restaurant $2.00 Margaritas all day, good texmex food. Two for one prime rib at 7 Doors Restaurant in Grandscape on Mondays. Sake Hibachi and Sushi buy one get one Monday and Tuesday. We like Marcos Pizza on Main, good value. Dallas Cowboys practice facility in Frisco with lots of great restaurants and shopping. Legacy West nearby is a little like Rodeo Drive with high end shopping, great people watching. Platte River floating can be done right to the mouth of the river on Lake Michigan, and to the north you can visit the dune climb area as well as one of the country's largest historic rural districts.

Definitely check out the Sleeping Bear Dunes Overlook in the Pierce Stocking Scenic Drive. Check out where the Platte River flows into Lake MIchigan and look for Petosky Stones.
