Mackinaw Island is a drive but worth it!! Sleeping Bear Dunes as well....

- RipNC If you like Mexican, Eat at MI Pueblito in Rutherfordton. Food was very good, prices were good and proportions were huge. The Flan was excellent.9 months ago 4 Paws Kingdom Campground & Dog Retreat
- SarahK1978 If you don't want to go all the way to Asheville, check out Chimney Rock! Cute little town and we took the dogs hiking up to the top of Chimney Rock - it's a lot of stairs (no dogs on the elevator) but they were able to take the shuttle bus to the base of the stairs.11 months ago 4 Paws Kingdom Campground & Dog Retreat
- Les35sa50 Shopping was fairly close and so were some restaurants, but we didn't eat at them. Some really nice wineries near by. It's about an hour from Asheville and Winston Salem. Asheville has a wonderful walking food tour & would recommend it. Explained all the fun things for dogs previously.
