Be prepared to drive slow down a bumpy gravel road to enter the park. Also follow the owners instructions verse GPS.

Good food and drink at the Thirsty Sturgeon, just north of WolverineThe Rail trail in Wolverine is over 100 miles long. If you have a bike it's only 2 miles or so from the campground to join up and ride to the Thirsty Sturgeon for a beer!Go to Petosky and get some stones from the beach!Go to Mackinac Island on a weekday and go up into the woods...

- Jason Gray Knife River National Historic Site (1 mile north) is accessible by walking trail or driving. Excellent hiking trails through prairie and forest areas, and to the Missouri River. Interesting "earthlodge" home reconstruction typical of the Hidatsa tribe that would have been used by Sakakawea before she joined up with the Lewis and Clark expedition. L&C Interp Center also available in Washburn about 20 minutes east that has even more about the expedition.6 years ago Sakakawea City Park
