“City Park”
Nightly Rate: $25 USD
This is a seasonal park. But from August on they will do weekly rates. My rate was $175 for the week. While I was there, half of the campers had nobody in them. My site had many low hanging limbs that...

Tip for Other Campers:
Just up the road is Gordys hi-hat restaurant. Delicious burgers, onion rings and shakes. There is a gas station designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. If you are going to drive up scenic 61 go to Bettys Pies.
“Monthly & Weekly Reservations Only”

Spafford Park only accepts reservations for monthly and weekly stays. I confirmed this on 5/6/24 when I tried to make a reservation for one night and was told 'no'. Did not use this park, but had to...

I haven't stayed in this park, but walked through it many times. Nice big spaces, some on the river. It's the St. Louis river by the way, flows on into Duluth and dumps into Lake Superior. You can...

Tip for Other Campers:
Take the harbor tour to learn about the twin ports. Be sure to check out the Corp of Engineers museum; free and very interesting. Take a drive up the north shore for wonderful views of Lake Superior.

This small municipally owned campground was a pleasure to stay at. The park is on a small island on the St. Louis River. There are only 21 sites and all have electric and water plus at least one other...

Tip for Other Campers:
The campground is about 18 miles from Duluth and Superior where we like to watch the ships come and go at Canal Park. There is also a tourist railroad offering train rides out of downtown Duluth. A drive to Two Harbors is also interesting when ships are loading taconite. In Cloquet, the Frank Lloyd Wright-designed gas station is a must see for FLW...
