Tip for Other Campers:
Ely for lots of shopping. Wolf Center was very interesting and well worth a visit. Many outfitters nearby. Long, paved bike trail (Mesabi) from Ely.
Tips from campers about Silver Rapids Lodge
- JoyBoy4Jesus Dogs were not allowed at the picnic area but had a small beach area where they were allowed off leash if needed. We did take our dog to the Whitefish Trail near Mountain Lion Trailhead which was a fabulous place to take your dog off leash.11 months ago Whitefish Lake State Park

The RV/Travel trailer spots here are an after thought. They are very much on top of each other with no greenery and no privacy and they were not clean.The power worked, other than that no upside....

Tip for Other Campers:
10 miles away (or less) starts the Boundary Waters so no shortage of water activities and fishing. Ely is a cute little town. Kawishiwi Falls trail goes past the old hydropower plant.
