“Expensive place to park”
Nightly Rate: $56 USD
This is a no frills expensive ground only electric available. Level gravel sites. Dish and Verizon signals good. Four Wheeler / UTV trail goes right by the sites and it is on the highway so there is...

“No Frills Campground”

Our site was level, back in #24. A little confusing to check as it was Labor Day and no one was around when we arrived. There was a family leaving and the Mom helped me with the site number and code...

Tip for Other Campers:
We traveled Hwy 61 along Lake Superior North one day to the Canadian Border, stopping to see many of the waterfalls, lighthouses, and towns along the way. Grand Marias, and Grand Portage are a must see. Ryden's Store in Grand Portage was very interesting.
Tips from campers about Black Beach Municipal Campground
- Eric_447 We went into Portsmouth visited a few shops and had coffee at the Landing. We also ate at Oddfellows but also would like to try Patties and Pints next time I am there.
- Logans Bibi The flood wall murals are a must see.
- jkhouse183 Key point is there is no cellular and no WiFi. You lose all connectivity about 3 miles from the campground. Bring some CDs for viewing. Portsmouth is 10 miles to the east and has a wonderful mural on the levee walls that document the history of the city. It took 10 years to complete and very impressive!

“Nice city campground”
Nightly Rate: $42 USD
We stayed here two nights. The site spacing is typical for a campground with number close. Our site stopped towards the rear. It was a quiet campground with friendly staff. There is access to Lake...

This is a fairly new municipal campground. There is a sign on the highway that leads you to the campground. The front loop was right on US61, the 2nd loop was quite a way off the highway. Signage to...
