“Nice quiet campground.”
Nightly Rate: $30 USD
Only about 1/3 full. Nice and very quiet. We spent the night and left the next day. Restrooms and showers were older but clean. We camped at Tombigbee State Park in a Truck Camper.

Tip for Other Campers:
We stayed there the October 30-31. There was nothing going on for Halloween at the park but I think they said they had some trunk or treats. There was only 3 of us there and we got a big rain storm that knock out the power. We had a generator thankfully but the power was out most of the night. So maybe be aware. Its only a 10 minute drive to the Elvis...
Tips from campers about Tombigbee State Park
- pilots48 Services are nearby. I had Papa Johns pizza delivered. Reservations are done on the phone. They will call you day of to verify that you are coming. They will give you the gate code so go directly to your site, then walk over to the office to register and pay. Very friendly staff.1 year ago John H Moss Lake

- Rosie the Riveted The town of Shelby is close with shops, restaurants, and a great brewpub. We recommend the Earl Scruggs Center and International Lineman Museum. There are several murals around town to discover as well. Slightly farther is the Kings Mountain National Military Park. This is the October 1780 battlefield of the first American victory after the British took over Charleston, SC in May 1780 during the Revolutionary War. There's a paved 1.5 mile walking loop with good signage and an optional audio tour accessible on your cell phone. Farther still is the US National Whitewater Center with man-made rapids for kayaking, rafting, ropes courses, zip-lines, and 57 miles of bike trails.2 years ago John H Moss Lake

“Nice State Park”
Nightly Rate: $32 USD
Beautiful setting in a very nice state park. Our site is asphalt but unlevel although we managed with blocks. Winding roads to get here but manageable just go low and slow. Worth it once you get here....

Birthplace of Elvis, Natchez Trace Parkway Visitors Center. Ate at the Neon Pig and enjoyed a very good burger....

Typical state park, lots of trees, quiet and beautiful. We stayed here and explored the Natchez Trace using this campground as our base. We camped at Tombigbee State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Stayed on site 10. Site 11 looked better with more room. Site 10 had a large hole in the pad towards the back that we were able to avoid....
