“Neat Sites on the river”
Nightly Rate: $21 USD
This is a very small campground; can be reserved; there is train noise, so be aware. Sites are well spaced and CHEAP. We camped at Trail of Tears State Park in a Motorhome.

Reservation Cancelled due to hazardous road conditions in the park. I stayed here in the past. It was convenient to what we wanted to do in the area. Trains driving by are loud. There is a disclaimer...

- RVL499996 Coburn Park - Pack a picnic and enjoy Lake George, spend the day at the beach! Old Mill Pub for lunch, sit and enjoy on the patio
- Dalene_984 Vittles in Pittsfield, ME is excellent and cost friendly, along with Outland Farm Brewery in Pittsfield. Outland Farm does not have a full menu, but what they have available to eat is very good along with great beer. Try the twisted pretzel with beer cheese! Bigelow Brewing Company in Skowhegan, ME had good beer, pizza, and a live band the night we were there that was excellent. Gifford's Famous Ice Cream in Skowhegan, plus there are locations in other towns.(I somehow managed to find them everywhere!) Hero's pizza in Skowhegan was excellent. We had the Greek pizza! Highly recommend! We wanted to try their entire menu, but when we returned, we ordered the Greek Pizza again because it was so good! Old Mill Pub, also in Skowhegan was good but a little pricey. Sawyer's Dairy Bar in Palmyra has good food and ice cream. Fort Knox (didn't know there was another Fort Knox) and the Penobscot Narrows Bridge and Observatory was very interesting and the town across the river, Bucksport. Enjoyed the Maine Maritime Museum in Bath. Locally see the Tallest Wooden Indian, Lake George, & Moxie Falls. We also visited Bar Harbor, Acadia National Park, Boothbay Harbor, Portland, etc. This is just a great location to see many areas of Maine. As mentioned above, a short drive to visit the beautiful Maine coast. Cap'n Fish's Cruises out of Boothbay Harbor were excellent. If in Boothbay, stop at The Red Cup Cafe for a bite to eat and great coffee.
- Matt7571 The mining setup for gems was pretty cool. Bags were not too expensive and had lots of gems in them. Kids really enjoyed this activity.

“Missouri state parks are a deal during the off season.”
Nightly Rate: $19 USD
Basics: Roads and sites are paved, pretty flat, and easy to get around on. They had the water shut off for the season so they had a great break on the price of ,$20/ night. They have a rather narrow...

Site right next to the Mississippi River- train that runs between your site and the river, so be prepared for trains until about 10 pm and until 6 am. It was great watching the barges on the water,...

Tip for Other Campers:
We also visited the huge Bass Pro shops, Beale Street, Sun Studio , Mud Island and Graceland. Be careful navigating into the park, depending on what navigation you use it will route you through difficult roads. The area coming into the park is Sketchy, however the park is safe.
