If you need firewood, we passed a "$5 camp fire wood" handmade sign about a quarter mile or so from the park entrance and decided to stop. After following the sign through a residential area to a beautiful home, a lovely young man greeted us and set us up with a perfectly stacked, dry, generous amount of wood. Tips from campers about Baxter Campground
- Rick & Janine If you need firewood, we passed a "$5 camp fire wood" handmade sign about a quarter mile or so from the park entrance and decided to stop. After following the sign through a residential area to a beautiful home, a lovely young man greeted us and set us up with a perfectly stacked, dry, generous amount of wood. Delightful! Definitely stop at Dogwood Canyon if you have time, and bring or rent bikes. We absolutely loved our day trip there and enjoyed a wonderful meal at their onsite restaurant. 5 stars! If renting a boat, I'd recommend a drive to Indian Point. Much better prices and options for a day use. Other2 years ago Baxter Campground
