Tips from campers about Polson, MT

  • JeannBob Visit the National Bison Range. Polson is nearest large city. Buy some produce at the stand near the state park.
  • CalCal There is a Mexican restaurant which was good-Fiesta En Jalisco. There is a farmers market on Fridays with a good winery right around the corner. We took a boat shuttle to Wild Horse Island and saw eagles, Big Horn Sheep and deer. We used Big Arm Boat Rentals
  • ReconReschar The campground is above a motorcoach resort so when you first arrive, turn right off of Irvine Flats Road and go all the way up the hill, past the motorcoach resort, to the campground office/registration. Our favorite place to get coffee, fresh pastries and jalapeno bread was Whistle Bake Shop and Good Coffee Roasting Company on Main St. Polson. Love the grilled cheese on jalapeno bread with tomato soup lunch special! We went every Tuesday to get fresh baked bread. YUM! I heard The Shoe has a pet friendly patio, although we never went. We did however visit Glacier Brewing many times with our fur baby to enjoy Devn's Twist Food Truck, and the beer too. The fish & chips (not on the menu) were excellent, especially the tartersauce. My friend had the chicken fried steak sandwich and she said it was even better then her favorite place in Texas! If you like BBQ - Cherries BBQ Pit is the place. Best BBQ I've ever had. And their homemade ice cream is amazing.
