“Beautiful, not the easiest to get to”
Nightly Rate: $30 USD
This was a lovely park. No full hookup sites but it does have 50 amp electric and a dump station. Getting there was a bit of an adventure traveling down dirt roads with a 42 foot fifth wheel, but once...

Tips from campers about Rock Creek Station State Recreation Area
- Teardrop11 Down the hill from the campground is the historical ranch, which was a waypoint on the Oregon Trail as well as a station for the Pony Express. If thats not enough history the ranch was also where Wild Bill Hickok killed his first (or second) man, nobody is quite sure. There is a walking trail between the campground and the ranch, but you can also drive around to the Visitor Center, if you prefer.
- RVgNewb The visitor's center, wagon run (only 1 side shows) and old post office and log cabin can all be visited in 45 minutes or less, so this is definitely a 1-night stop, if that.
- RVL406784 Don't miss the Station museum and Pony express, Oregon trail exhibit. Town of Fairbury nearby for supplies, fuel and eatery's.

The campground at Rock Creek Station State Historical Park is very, very nice. Although it is a little on the expensive side for folks from outside Nebraska in addition to the camping fee, there is a...

Electric only, nice sites, some of which are very well spaced out. Very tiny CG, like 20 sites, with many first-come first-served still available in early afternoon on a Friday in June. Excellent,...

We spent 4 nights in this beautiful park. Quiet, peaceful, well maintained. All sites are paved and fairly level. We camped at Rock Creek Station State Recreation Area in a Fifth Wheel.
