“Beautiful nature surroundings”
Nightly Rate: $36 USD
A beautiful state park to get away and enjoy nature. Some sites are along the water and some wooded. We had a dry camping site up the hill, and it was very spacious. There are a few amenities like a...

“Huge Campsites”
Nightly Rate: $38 USD
Nice park. We were in site 30 and used every block we had to get level front to back. Access to the lake was convenient. Very quiet. We camped at Lake Francis State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips from campers about Lake Francis State Park
- REN3 If you go to Red Bluff Overlook, (not to be confused with the Overlook Trail Lookout in the Park which is a nice hike for all) be very careful with the Google map directions. But you will need them, unless you have very finely detailed maps. I have a high clearance 4WD F-250 and needed it in some places. I do not recommend going there in a passenger vehicle. Tomahawk Slab Road is pretty bad, but you can and should bypass it. Don't take AR 5033 starting out from Hwy 14, go 3.5 miles North and take AR 5032 (the road to Maumee from Hwy 14). (99% of the State Roads are rough gravel, made worse by the recent deluges.) Good viewpoints at the Overlook are on very steep bluff "goat trails". Not recommended for kids, pets and old fools like me!2 weeks ago Buffalo Point

- Ronald Tebbetts A bit of a challenge to get to with a large motorhome. Narrow roads with lots of curves and steep grades but we made it. Rather isolated from a town of any size. The closest (14 miles) with a grocery store is Yellville. There is also a BBQ restaurant and a Sonic. Otherwise, its 24 miles to the nearest town. No Verizon cell service. Did see others on their phone so I believe that AT&T had some service. Could not get a connection with a satellite for DISH. Lots of canoe rental places nearby so I imagine that this place is crazy in the summer. We were here 50 years ago and it hasn't changed all that much.1 month ago Buffalo Point

Located in remote Northern NH, small state park adjacent to large Lake Francis. Provides great opportunities for fishing and paddling/boating. Several sites with water and 15A electric, dump station...

Tip for Other Campers:
Less than 1/2 hour from Canadian border. Rte 3 known as "Moose Alley" for moose-viewing opportunities. Miles of back country roads to explore, multiple lakes/ponds/streams for (mostly fly) fishing for trout and salmon. Dark Skies for stargazing.
This is a small campground in northern New Hampshire. There are only a few sites where large campers like ours, 40 foot, can comfortably fit. Sites 20 and 21 are best. There are hookups for 20 amp...

Tip for Other Campers:
Garfield Falls is a little bit of a walk in from the road but beautiful. Bring a picnic! The water is nice and cool on a hot day. Beaver Brook Falls is right off the road on Route 145. Young's General Store has groceries and just about everything else. The trail to Fourth Connecticut Lake follows right along the Canadian border (but dogs are not...

Let me start out by stating that; it is the path less taken that sometimes provides the greatest rewards, and the Lake Francis State Park fulfilled that truism. From the very beginning, service was a...

Tip for Other Campers:
There was "general" store nearby that had just about everything. Further south as an IGA if you wanted more selections. Some nearby restaurants , but we did dinners at the campsite.
