“A real mixed bag - mostly small, cramped sites but great staff & scenery”
Nightly Rate: $10 USD
As we were navigating to our campsite, selected online months earlier, our 27' travel trailer had an argument with a tree and lost. I didn't notice that I had over-tightened a turn because we were...

The small town of Eagle Nest, on Eagle Nest lake, is a few miles down the very twisty highway and well worth a visit. It does have one dog-friendly restaurant open a few nights/week. Angel Fire, which caters mostly to skiers but has some restaurants open in the summer time, is also not far away. If you plan on visiting Taos, budget some extra time to wade...

- MikaPhil Cimarron and Eagle Nest are just 10-15 minutes away, both have groceries, gas, etc. The Pine Ridge is in Ute Park (5 minutes away), has gas and a few essentials, the owner can come off as rude but is actually a nice guy. Be sure to stop by the Cree Mee in Cimarron and have dinner or ice cream. Hikers Coffee in Cimarron is also a great little shop to visit while in town. If you're looking for Museums, the Old Mill Museum is a neat place to check out. St. James Hotel is great if your looking for an evening drink. Hiking almost anywhere in Cimarron Canyon will be great!

Angel Fire, which caters mostly to skiers but has some restaurants open in the summer time, is also not far away. If you plan on visiting Taos, budget some extra time to wade through a one-lane section of highway on the Enchanted Circle, that will clearly be under construction for years to come.
- Garrettb675 Id rank the campsites 1) Maverick 2) Tolby 3) Ponderosa I had very poor cell service all the way to Eagle Nest. Bring your fishing pole

“Invasion of biting flies”
Nightly Rate: $10 USD
Didn't like this campground. There were hoards of biting flies that made being outside painful. The camphost never emerged from their RV but their constantly running generator assured us they were...
