We visited this park thinking we might want to camp here. At the front entrance is a large flagpole, obviously belonging to the park and not a camper, flying the yellow Gadsden "Don't Tread on Me"...

- DaddyMan Coming from Nashville, Google maps and trip wizard took us through a long route on country roads. If you're not interested in that, stay on the interstate 65 until you get to Athens, AL and turn west.1 month ago Joe Wheeler State Park

Tip for Other Campers:
This place is in the "middle of nowhere" - stock up before you come. Road from highway to here is hilly and twisty.
