Tips from campers about Rob Jaggers Camping Area
- 210jem Ft. Stanton has a rich history and which is shown through a large extensive museum detailing the historical events of its past. It is worth your visit. It was one of the Indian war control forts of the 1800s, then a tuberculosis sanatorium run by the government, a WW2 camp for interned German civilian sailors, later a women's prison, and now a historical site and conference meeting place. Nearby is the extensive Snowy River cave system discovered in the last 30 years. We just happened to drive by on highway 380 and saw the sign south on 220 to Ft. Stanton. Turned out to be an unexpected real jewel event on our trip.9 years ago Rob Jaggers Camping Area
- CompassRose No stores for many miles. Bring it with you or do without. Also, most of the time, this area is under fire warnings of varying degrees. Do not count on building a fire. Don't forget that your pets look like snacks to some of the local wildlife. It's $7 per adult ticket for Ft. Stanton AND Lincoln Historic Sites. You can buy tickets for both places for $10 per adult ticket. Ft. Stanton is undergoing restoration which will be a long process. Some buildings are not open to the public. If you like history and/or architecture, this is a good place. The cave is not open and I don't think it will be for a long time. But Ft. Stanton has a nice exhibit about the cave system. Pets are not allowed in the buildings of either Historic Site.11 months ago Rob Jaggers Camping Area

“Huge sites!”

Quiet this time of year, so I can't speak to other times of the year. There are horse corrals at all the big sites. We camped at Rob Jaggers Camping Area in a Motorhome.
